The Woodstock Experience

Three days of Peace, Love and Music.

AIM’s 2011 Showcase ‘The Woodstock Experience’ displayed the talents of students from the Australian Institute of Music bringing acts such as; Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Who and Jimi Hendrix to life.

500,000 concert-goers attended the Woodstock Festival in 1969. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular music history and was listed among Rolling Stone’s ‘50 Moments that changed the history of Rock and Roll.’

The design called for authenticity which was achieved through material choice; ply wood floor, metal scaffold and an asymmetric projection screen reminiscent of the twin canvas sails of the original festival staging.
