Clybourne Park
Are we addicted to political correctness and do we use it to mask our inherent racism? Clybourne Park is a wickedly funny, fiercely provocative play about race, real estate and the volatile values of each. The first act is set in Chicago 1959 where a house in Clybourne Park has just been sold. Act Two fast forwards fifty years where the same house is about to be levelled and rebuilt. In both scenarios, we watch supposedly civilised people behave like territorial savages. Outrageously funny, Clybourne Park has won nearly every honour the theatre has to give – the 2011 Pulitzer Prize, the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play, the 2011 Olivier Award for Best New Play and the 2010 Evening Standard Award.

“Tobhiyah Feller’s set design expressively lands the audience in the middle of the action, – Act 1, a living room in disarray with a family on the move. Act 2- a construction zone, again everything in disarray, waiting for a fresh start.”
David Kary,

“Sets and costume made Clybourne very believable, and Tobhiyah Stone Feller deserves credit for creating the tone and taste.”

“Kudos to set and costume designer Tobhiyah Stone Feller, whose set for the house can be completely transformed for the second half so we can see how much this suburb has been left to its own devices, out of fear and neglect.”

“The costumes are well observed and executed – from stitched up, class-conscious 1959 to casual, seemingly democratic 2009 – are an achievement for young designer Tobhiyah Stone Feller. With lighting designer Verity Hampson she has effectively conjured up a simple but detailed 1950s suburban living room and front porch…”
